Curtis Heaphy's unbeaten 90 and a last-wicket stand with Jayden Lennox frustrated India A as bad light ended the first unofficial Test in a draw on Tuesday.
The first unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A concluded in a draw on Tuesday after bad light intervened. Chasing 313 for victory, New Zealand A slipped to 170 for 9 before Curtis Heaphy's unbeaten 90 and a stubborn tenth-wicket partnership with Jayden Lennox helped the hosts survive until play was halted with 18 overs remaining.
India A had earlier posted 516 in their second innings, driven by Devdutt Padikkal's 199. In New Zealand A's fourth-innings pursuit, pacer Auqib Nabi impressed by claiming 3 for 28, while Padikkal also contributed two wickets before bad light brought a premature end to the contest.
