Bumrah is not part of the ODI squad, but will return to lead the attack in the two-match Test series

Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant have been selected in India's squad for the upcoming two-match Test series in New Zealand, which starts in Wellington on November 19. Bumrah returns to lead the bowling attack after missing Test cricket since November 2025, though he will sit out the preceding ODI series as head coach Gautam Gambhir manages his workload. Pant's inclusion remains subject to fitness clearance following a side strain suffered during the Irani Cup.
Prasidh Krishna was also named in the Test squad and the opening three ODIs, though his white-ball involvement is pending fitness clearance for a hamstring strain. Shubman Gill will captain India in the Test series and the first three ODIs before Shreyas Iyer captains the final two ODIs. Wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra earned a maiden national call-up for the concluding ODIs, while B Sai Sudharsan and Akash Deep returned to the Test setup.
