New Zealand had a terrible start against India in the second ODI at the Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Saturday. The Indian bowlers were on target from the very first over and made life difficult for the home batters.
Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to just 7/1 after the first five overs in the second ODI in Wellington. The slow start matched New Zealand's lowest score after five overs since their 2019 World Cup semifinal against India. India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first in favorable conditions.
Arshdeep Singh opened with a maiden over against Will Young to build early pressure. Auqib Nabi then claimed his maiden ODI wicket by dismissing Tim Seifert for a five-ball duck, caught by Anshul Kamboj at mid-on, while Henry Nicholls and Young continued to struggle for runs.
