Former Ireland international Simi Singh has officially announced his retirement from professional cricket, ending a 20-year association with the country. The 39-year-old all-rounder represented Ireland in 35 ODIs and 53 T20Is after moving there from India in 2006. His decision follows an ongoing recovery from acute liver failure suffered in 2024, which halted his active playing career.
Singh underwent a life-saving liver transplant in India after his wife, Agamdeep Kaur, donated part of her liver. Having relocated to Mohali, Singh has established his own cricket academy and plans to pursue an ECB Level 3 coaching certification as he begins his post-playing career.
