Former India batter Ajinkya Rahane has selected his all-time Indian Test XI from players he featured alongside in international or domestic cricket. Rahane surprisingly omitted modern stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, opting instead to include himself at the number five batting position. He named MS Dhoni as the team's wicketkeeper and captain because Dhoni was his first international skipper.

The lineup features openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan, followed by Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar in the top order. Rahane rounded out his side with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, alongside a pace attack of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma.
