The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis selected only one Pakistani cricketer while assembling a combined India-Pakistan dream team during an appearance on the Shubhankar Mishra podcast. In a head-to-head rapid-fire segment, Waqar largely favored Indian players, choosing Sachin Tendulkar over Inzamam-ul-Haq, Virat Kohli over Babar Azam, MS Dhoni over Javed Miandad, and Rohit Sharma over Fakhar Zaman. The only Pakistani player he selected was Saeed Anwar ahead of Virender Sehwag.

Waqar also backed Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami over their Pakistani counterparts. While he hailed Bumrah as an unmatched white-ball bowler who delivers in crunch situations, Waqar noted that the Indian pacer still needs to prove himself further in Test cricket compared to other established modern bowlers.
