The Mexico City Grand Prix once again delivered a memorable weekend, culminating in Kimi Antonelli being crowned F1’s youngest World Champion.

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli became Formula 1's youngest World Champion by finishing third at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix. Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the race after starting fifth on the grid, holding off Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton by 0.7 seconds to take his sixth victory in Mexico City. Antonelli's podium made him the first Italian world champion since Alberto Ascari in 1953.
Ferrari faced internal tension after Charles Leclerc and Hamilton clashed on the opening lap, resulting in a five-second penalty for Leclerc. Mercedes teammate George Russell finished sixth following deployment issues and a penalty, while Ryo Hirakawa scored a point on his Haas debut after being elevated to tenth by post-race penalties.
