Former Formula 1 driver Christijan Albers criticized Fernando Alonso for showing a lack of respect toward engine partner Honda with recent public remarks. Speaking to Telesport, Albers said he felt ashamed of the sport seeing Alonso's reactions, contrasting his conduct with the professionalism of newly-crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli.
Alonso's frustrations surfaced following a lap-five retirement at the Mexico City Grand Prix caused by an issue in Honda's 2026-spec power unit. Albers argued that while internal pressure is understandable, criticizing the manufacturer publicly is not classy behavior.
