Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has opened up about suffering panic attacks and the psychological pressures of F1, while revealing the devastating family tragedy which overshadowed his departure from the team.

Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has opened up about experiencing panic attacks and dealing with personal tragedy around the time of his dismissal from the team. Speaking in an interview with The Guardian, the 52-year-old revealed that his sacking in July 2025 occurred just days after his former wife, Beverley Allen, passed away from cancer, leaving their 11-year-old daughter Olivia grieving.
Horner described his exit from Red Bull as brutal and painful, noting he received nearly £67 million in compensation. He explained that managing anxiety symptoms and focusing entirely on supporting his daughter prevented him from immediately processing the professional fallout of losing his post after two decades.
