F1 is set to return to the African continent after nearly four decades as Rwanda becomes the venue for a brand-new GP circuit.

Formula 1 is reportedly preparing to return to the African continent with plans finalized to stage a Grand Prix in Rwanda. According to reports from RacingNews365, an agreement has been reached between key stakeholders to host the race near the capital city of Kigali, marking the sport's first event in Africa since the 1993 South African Grand Prix at Kyalami.
The proposed project involves constructing a new permanent circuit near Bugesera International Airport, with former driver Alex Wurz reportedly designing the layout. Supported by Rwandan President Paul Kagame and long championed by Lewis Hamilton, an official announcement could arrive before year's end, with the race slated to debut no earlier than 2030.
