The Story in 60 Seconds

Carlos Sainz Jnr has voiced concerns that the expanding Formula 1 calendar might diminish fan engagement. Speaking on the sport's schedule, which includes nine events across 11 weeks, Sainz suggested that having constant races makes the championship feel more like a domestic league than a special event, potentially causing fans to pay less attention to each race.

Sainz, who serves as a Grand Prix Drivers' Association director, also emphasized the heavy toll that the 24-to-25 race limit takes on team personnel.
