Ferrari have bolstered their technical ranks with the significant signing of a key Mercedes engineer.

Ferrari has bolstered its technical staff by hiring engineer Jasper van Schaick from Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains. Van Schaick spent nearly eight years at Mercedes working on power unit technology and concepts for Formula 1 regulations. He will join the Italian team in Maranello as a Chassis Vehicle System Specialist.
Writing on LinkedIn, van Schaick revealed the move came just as he prepared to return to the Netherlands. Ferrari signed him to address straight-line performance deficits and strengthen power unit integration as it rebuilds technical operations for the 2027 season.
