After conflicting reports of a separation in the past few weeks, it has been officially confirmed that the FIA and ACO will partner in the operations of the World Endurance Championship until the end of 2037.

The FIA and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) have officially confirmed a long-term agreement extending their partnership over the World Endurance Championship (WEC) until the end of 2037. The deal focuses on expanding commercial development, increasing the FIA's presence and regulatory role, and overseeing Hypercar car homologation jointly through the next decade.
The renewal comes amid strong growth for WEC, with trackside attendance climbing over 8% in 2026 and major entries planned, including Ford and McLaren joining Hypercar in 2027. The agreement also outlines plans for a unified technical framework with IMSA by 2030 and support for new technologies such as hydrogen powertrains.
