The FIA has removed a considerable point of jeopardy overnight at the Sepang International Circuit with a track change following concerns raised by the drivers in FP1 and FP2.

The FIA has repositioned the pit-entry bollard at the Sepang International Circuit ahead of FP3 following driver concerns raised during Friday's practice sessions. The bollard was originally placed at the edge of the track at Turn 15, marking the start of the pit entry. Under the previous Race Director's Competition Notes, any car that ran wide and went to the right of the marker was mandated to enter the pit lane rather than rejoin the track.
Several drivers ran into trouble with the initial rule during practice. Liam Lawson and Valtteri Bottas received black-and-white flags in FP1, as did Kimi Antonelli in FP2, while George Russell complied by pitting after running wide. Moving the bollard further back ensures drivers who drift wide at the final corner can now safely remain on the circuit without having to commit to the pits.
