After setting the pace in practice, Ferrari could only manage P4 and P5 on the grid for the United States Grand Prix.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur dismissed the wind as an excuse for the team's disappointing United States Grand Prix qualifying performance, calling the reasoning "bulls**t." Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton topped every practice session in Austin, entering qualifying as favorites for pole position. However, neither driver matched their practice form in Q3, resulting in Leclerc qualifying fourth and Hamilton fifth.
Vasseur noted that wind conditions affected every competitor equally and urged Ferrari to execute better on decisive final laps. Pole position went to Kimi Antonelli, with Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar also finishing ahead of both Ferraris. Vasseur emphasized that the car had the pace for a front-row start but acknowledged how minor margins can drastically alter qualifying outcomes.
