Helmut Marko has put to bed the "absolute lie" his former colleague Christian Horner accused him of following their stint in Formula 1.

Former Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has backed ex-Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher after Schumacher labeled Christian Horner's account of signing Max Verstappen an "absolute lie." In his autobiography, Horner claimed Marko originally called Jos Verstappen a nightmare and opposed signing Max. Marko firmly denied this claim to Austrian outlet OE24, maintaining he had always championed the Dutch driver's move to Formula 1.
Schumacher stated that Marko had scouted Verstappen since he was 11 years old, well before Horner's involvement. Max Verstappen also commented on the situation, remarking that the paddock atmosphere has become less stressful following Horner's departure from Red Bull.
