Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has vowed to maintain his standard mindset heading into the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, where he faces his first mathematical opportunity to clinch his maiden Formula 1 world championship. The 20-year-old leads teammate George Russell by 102 points after finishing third in Singapore, having accumulated eight wins across the 2026 season.
To secure the title in Austin, Antonelli must win the race while Russell finishes ninth or lower. Despite acknowledging that Red Bull and Max Verstappen have gained ground by winning the previous two races, Antonelli emphasized that his main focus remains executing his job and understanding the team's latest aerodynamic upgrades.
