Here's what Mercedes must do to clinch the 2026 F1 constructors' world championship title in the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend.

Mercedes can secure its ninth Formula 1 constructors' championship at the Mexico City Grand Prix if it expands its points lead over Ferrari to at least 172 points. Mercedes currently leads Ferrari by 133 points with five races remaining in the season, meaning the team must outscore its sole remaining title rival by at least 39 points during the race weekend.
To achieve this, Mercedes must finish with both cars on the podium, including a victory. A one-two finish for Mercedes would secure the title if Ferrari scores four points or fewer, while a one-three finish requires Ferrari to score no more than a single point.
