Lewis Hamilton issued an apology and took full responsibility on Instagram after finishing sixth at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver ignored a radio call to pit during a virtual safety car period, choosing an alternative strategy that ultimately failed. Max Verstappen won the race, while Hamilton's teammate Charles Leclerc finished second, demonstrating the car's competitive pace.
Hamilton explained that his decision to switch to medium tires on a one-stop strategy did not deliver the intended results at Marina Bay Circuit. After missing post-race media sessions due to feeling unwell, the seven-time world champion thanked fans and vowed to bounce back at the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
