The threat of a safety car or VSC at the Singapore Grand Prix puts what ought to be a comfortable one-stop strategy at risk.

The high probability of a safety car or virtual safety car at the Singapore Grand Prix could disrupt Formula 1 teams' race plans. Pirelli head of motorsport Dario Marrafuschi explained that Marina Bay Street Circuit has seen a safety car in four of the last six races, offering opportunities for cheap pit stops at a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult.
Under normal conditions, Pirelli projects a one-stop soft-to-medium strategy to be the fastest route for the 62-lap race, with the pit window opening around Lap 26. Marrafuschi noted that two-stop strategies are roughly 10 seconds slower, though an early neutralisation could push teams toward using the hard tyre compound.
