McLaren have upgrades for Azerbaijan Grand Prix but wary of Baku “circuit of extremes”

McLaren is introducing a new aerodynamic upgrade package for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. The team aims to build on recent progress, which includes Lando Norris winning at Zandvoort and securing pole position in Madrid. McLaren will evaluate the new parts during Friday practice, alongside the return of the low-drag H-Wing first used at Monza.

Chief Technical Officer Rob Marshall highlighted the unique challenges of the Baku street circuit, which features both the longest straight in Formula 1 and extremely slow corners. Marshall noted that managing energy, tyres, and brakes after the long straight will be critical, especially with the added risk of Baku's unforgiving walls.
