McLaren driver Oscar Piastri reported that Isack Hadjar's Red Bull appeared to suffer from inconsistent battery deployment during the 2026 United States Grand Prix. Piastri briefly battled Hadjar after the Red Bull racer exited the pit lane on Lap 25, though Piastri ultimately finished the race in seventh position at the Circuit of the Americas.
Hadjar confirmed after the race that an error left him stuck in pit stop engine mapping, costing him up to a second per lap in driveability. Despite the deployment issue, Hadjar recovered to secure sixth place, finishing 18.301 seconds ahead of Piastri, who successfully held off Mercedes driver George Russell.
