The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya believes Kimi Antonelli's method of beating Mercedes teammate George Russell could begin to backfire in their world championship battle. Speaking on the Drive to Wynn podcast, Montoya theorized that Antonelli typically learns from Russell's setup throughout the race weekend before outqualifying him, but argued that copying Russell led to mistakes in Baku qualifying after Russell claimed the race victory.

Russell moved within 66 points of Antonelli with eight race weekends remaining in the championship. Montoya suggested that if Russell maintains his current speed, Antonelli may continue to make errors under pressure as the title fight tightens.
