Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli revealed he hopes to secure the 2026 Formula 1 championship within two weeks. Speaking with NBA player Victor Wembanyama ahead of the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, Antonelli noted his title pursuit is getting close, pointing toward the Mexico City Grand Prix as his realistic target rather than clinching in Austin.
Antonelli currently holds a 102-point lead over teammate George Russell in the drivers' championship standings. While the Italian has a mathematical possibility to clinch the title at the United States Grand Prix, doing so requires him to win and extend his advantage by 23 points.
