The Story in 60 Seconds

Mercedes will face no penalty after working through a restricted curfew period ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. According to an official FIA report submitted by Technical Delegate Jo Bauer, team personnel remained at the circuit during a 13-hour restricted window between Wednesday, November 4, and Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The FIA confirmed that Mercedes properly utilized one of its permitted curfew exceptions under Article B9.5 of the Formula 1 Sporting Regulations. Because this marked the team's second use of six available exceptions for the first restricted period, no sporting penalties or fines were issued to the team or drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
