Lewis Hamilton secured pole position for the Mexican Grand Prix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, marking his first pole with Ferrari. Hamilton will share the front row with George Russell, while Max Verstappen incurs a one-place grid penalty following an FP2 collision. Liam Lawson was disqualified from qualifying due to a technical regulation breach in Q2 and will consequently start Sunday's race from the back of the grid.
Stewards disqualified Lawson after Racing Bulls self-reported an improper rate of MGU-K power reduction following his fast lap. Multiple other drivers face grid penalties for the race, including Gabriel Bortoleto, who received a five-place penalty for electronics control unit changes, and Valtteri Bottas, who received a 50-place penalty for exceeding multiple power unit component allocations.
