When your star driver gets out of the car after grabbing a podium and immediately tells the global broadcast that the pitstops, tyres, and engine braking were all complete garbage, it is up to the team principal to jump on…

Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies revealed that lap eight debris caused car damage that hampered Max Verstappen during the United States Grand Prix. Despite Verstappen's complaints over tires and engine braking, Mekies explained the damage disrupted car balance, worsened tire degradation, and caused Verstappen to drop to a third-place finish behind race winner Kimi Antonelli.
Mekies also addressed a difficult race for teammate Isack Hadjar, who suffered from a faulty clutch at the start and radio issues. Despite the setbacks in Austin, Red Bull advanced to third in the constructors' championship, with Verstappen moving within six points of second place in the drivers' standings.
