Ask most engineers to grade their own work at four or five out of 10 and you'd brace for bad news. Pierre Wache, Red Bull Racing's technical director, offered that score for the team's first homemade Formula 1 power unit…

Red Bull technical director Pierre Wache has warned rivals that the team's first in-house Formula 1 engine project has massive potential, rating its current development at just four or five out of 10. The squad is running its first independent engine program with Ford, known as the Red Bull Ford DM01, which is produced by Red Bull Powertrains in Milton Keynes.
According to an FIA assessment cited by RacingNews365, Red Bull's internal combustion engine reportedly generated the highest output on the grid despite its early development stage. Wache explained that integrating the engine program with chassis development remains an ongoing learning process with substantial room for improvement.
