Lewis Hamilton is determined to race in the first African Grand Prix in Rwanda, but people have been questioning how serious he is. F1 will…

Formula 1 paddock figures reportedly believed Lewis Hamilton was joking when stating his intention to race in the upcoming African Grand Prix in Rwanda. Speaking via The Race F1 Podcast, journalist Josh Suttill noted that many questioned Hamilton's seriousness after the British driver reiterated at the Mexico City Grand Prix that he intends to participate in the event.
Formula 1 is scheduled to return to Africa in the early 2030s at an all-new circuit in Bugesera, Rwanda. Because Hamilton is contracted with Ferrari reportedly until 2028, he would be approaching 50 years old by the time the race takes place, though Hamilton insisted he is focused on proving doubters wrong.
