Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur is reportedly holding talks to establish internal "rules of combat" following a tense post-race debrief at the Mexico City Grand Prix. A first-lap collision between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc resulted in Leclerc receiving a penalty and Max Verstappen taking the race victory. While Vasseur previously resisted formal rules of engagement, internal discussions are now underway to prevent further on-track clashes.
The incident in Mexico followed a similar opening-lap dispute between the teammates at Monza earlier in the season. Former Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg warned that the team risked disaster without clear guidelines. Ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Hamilton leads Leclerc by 14 points in the drivers' championship, prompting management to resolve inter-team tensions before next season.
