Lewis Hamilton has publicly backed team principal Fred Vasseur while suggesting that Ferrari's broader management structure may need future improvements. Speaking at Sepang, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion emphasized that decisions at Maranello involve levels above Vasseur. Hamilton praised Vasseur as the right leader who has helped Ferrari reach second place in the Constructors' Championship, though he noted there are organizational changes he personally would make.
Hamilton also identified Ferrari's primary technical weakness as its power unit, which he stated loses between four and six tenths of a second on straights each weekend. Addressing external scrutiny, Hamilton expressed frustration over the disproportionate negativity directed at the Scuderia, advising team personnel to ignore media criticism as the team continues working toward long-term success.
