Cadillac Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has chosen to cycle 350 kilometers (217 miles) from the Sepang International Circuit to Singapore between back-to-back race weekends. Instead of taking a flight like the rest of the paddock, the Finnish driver began his multi-day cycling endurance journey on Sunday evening, aiming to reach Marina Bay in time for Thursday's media commitments.
The bike ride follows Bottas's early retirement from the race in Sepang, won by Max Verstappen, where he spun out on lap nine after gambling on slick tires. Bottas apologized to his team for the mistake before embarking on the stages of his journey south.
