Saturday's third round of the 2026 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship was interrupted when protesters threw dozens of tennis balls at a player.

Disgruntled Celtic Football Club supporters disrupted Saturday's third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Protesters threw tennis balls bearing crossed-out photos of Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond onto the 15th green while he was playing alongside his pro-am partner, Brooks Koepka. The supporter group Celtic Fans Collective claimed responsibility, accusing Desmond of running the Scottish Premiership club without accountability.
Celtic Football Club strongly condemned the demonstration, stating the organizers brought shame to the team by targeting an individual at an unrelated professional sporting event. The Scottish club officially severed all ties with the Celtic Fans Collective, announcing it will no longer recognize the group. Additionally, the team warned that any individuals involved in planning or participating in the protest will receive indefinite bans from Celtic Park.
