European golfers have to be a DP World Tour member in order to be allowed on the Ryder Cup team.
The DP World Tour will prohibit golfers who join or remain with LIV Golf from competing on the European circuit during the 2027 season. Tour CEO Guy Kinnings announced that players must choose between the two leagues by mid-November, effectively blocking dual membership.
The decision carries major implications for the Ryder Cup, as European players must maintain active DP World Tour membership to remain eligible for the team. High-profile golfers, including Tyrrell Hatton and Bryson DeChambeau, face immediate decisions regarding their future tour status.
