The Story in 60 Seconds

Eugenio Chacarra has made significant adjustments to his TaylorMade Spider Tour S Long broomstick putter with help from tour representatives Alex Marine and James Holley. Working together at the BMW PGA Championship in September, the team flattened Chacarra's lie angle from a standard 79 degrees to 76 degrees. The change allows the Spanish golfer to position his eye line inside the ball and stand farther away, fixing alignment and stroke issues.

Alongside equipment changes, Chacarra adjusted his mechanics using a putting gate to lengthen his stroke and keep his head down. Since adopting the modified putter, Chacarra rose to third on the DP World Tour in adjusted Strokes Gained: Putting. The improvements contributed to his victory at the DP World India Championship, cementing his position atop the Race to Dubai standings.
