The Story in 60 Seconds

Four Mile Ranch Golf Club in Cañon City offers a distinctive public golfing experience in southern Colorado. Featured in GolfNow's "Hidden Gems" YouTube series, the 2008 Jim Engh design sits on a former cattle ranch and provides year-round play at roughly a mile above sea level. GolfNow Brand Ambassador Cailyn Whitmer and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback coach Chandler Whitmer showcased the 18-hole course during a "Favored or Forsaken" match.

Built without traditional sand bunkers, the layout instead relies on natural shale formations, mounds, blind shots, and heavily contoured greens for defense. The course spans nearly 2,400 yards longer from the back tees than from the forward tees, offering varied challenges across multiple tee options. Tee times frequently cost under $100.
