The Story in 60 Seconds

Andrew Bailey won the 45th U.S. Mid-Amateur championship at Sand Valley Resort in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, defeating Nate Smith 5 and 4 in the 36-hole final. The victory earned the 34-year-old apparel sales manager an exemption into the 2027 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, just one year after he volunteered selling merchandise at the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Bailey, a former professional golfer from Cleveland, birdied eight of the final 16 holes to secure the win after overcoming an early two-hole deficit. His victory also grants him exemptions into the next 10 Mid-Ams, two U.S. Amateurs, and a likely invitation to the upcoming Masters tournament.
