The Story in 60 Seconds

Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre has stated that he may have played his final event of the season due to ongoing conflict and uncertainty in the Middle East. After finishing tied for sixth at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews, the 30-year-old confirmed he will skip this week's Spanish Open and has no plans to compete in India or South Korea. He intends to monitor the regional situation before deciding whether to attend the DP World Tour season-ending events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

While Matt Fitzpatrick has also voiced doubts about travelling to the Middle East, Rory McIlroy has confirmed his intention to play both tournaments. MacIntyre noted that he might still participate in a tournament in the Bahamas in December, but he primarily expects a quiet couple of months focused on personal fitness and home projects before looking ahead to next summer's Open Championship at St Andrews.
