The Story in 60 Seconds

Rory McIlroy posted a two-under-par opening round of 70 to sit four shots behind clubhouse leader Niklas Norgaard at the weather-delayed DP World India Championship in New Delhi. Play was suspended for over four hours due to thunder and lightning in the area, leaving McIlroy tied for 13th once the opening day was curtailed.

Norgaard set the pace with a six-under 66, while Tom McKibbin and Eugenio Chacarra were among those one stroke back at five-under. Tommy Fleetwood also finished at two-under following a double bogey on his final hole, and several later groups, including Race to Dubai leader Patrick Reed, were unable to complete their rounds before play was stopped until Friday.
