The U.S. Golf Association has designated Merion Golf Club outside Philadelphia as its fourth official anchor site. Under this agreement, the historic venue is scheduled to host multiple prominent USGA championships over the next 25 years. This includes staging future editions of the U.S. Open in 2030, 2040, and 2050, as well as the U.S. Women's Open in 2034 and 2046.
Merion joins Pebble Beach, Oakmont, and Pinehurst as anchor venues selected to regularly host major championships. The club has previously hosted 20 USGA championships, including the 2013 U.S. Open won by Justin Rose, and holds rich golf history featuring historic victories by Bobby Jones in 1930 and Ben Hogan in 1950.
