After struggling with his putting stroke early in the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season, Docherty swapped his putter grip for a standard club grip and cut the shaft length down to match his 60-degree wedge.

The adjustment gave Docherty identical grips across all 14 clubs in his bag. The subsequent victory in Argentina earned him critical points, ultimately securing his PGA Tour card for the 2027 season.
