Sergio Garcia Targets Remarkable Ryder Cup Return

Sergio Garcia has announced he will do everything possible to make Europe's Ryder Cup team at Adare Manor, either as a player or a vice-captain. Speaking ahead of the Open de Espana, the 46-year-old revealed he has discussed his ambitions directly with European captain Luke Donald. Garcia is currently a free agent after his LIV Golf contract was terminated, leaving him to weigh his future playing options between LIV 2.0 and the DP World Tour.

Garcia holds the all-time Ryder Cup scoring record with 28.5 points across 10 appearances, having last featured in 2021. To qualify, he will likely need to commit to the DP World Tour for the 2027 season to avoid competing fines and sanctions. He also noted that joining the PGA Tour Champions seniors circuit is another possibility he is considering after turning 47.
