On Monday, golfers bid farewell to Dauphin Highlands, a popular Pennsylvania golf course now owned by data-center developers.

Dauphin Highlands, a public golf course near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, officially held its final day of operations on Monday. The property is being replaced by a 400,000-square-foot, $10 billion data center. Over 300 golfers gathered for one last round, marking an emotional goodbye to the Bill Love-designed course, which first opened on Labor Day weekend in 1995.
The Dauphin County General Authority agreed to sell the 228-acre parcel to a Texas-based developer for $45 million after the facility accrued $13 million in debt. Longtime director of instruction Tim Birney, who played in the final group alongside Fred DeCock and Joe Navin, reflected on three decades at the facility as test drilling begins ahead of next year's construction.
