The South Korean had been due to play in the Japan event, but he has announced his withdrawal

South Korean golfer Tom Kim has withdrawn from the upcoming Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Japan. The four-time PGA Tour winner was replaced in the 72-player field by Norway's Kris Ventura, with no official reason given for his decision to withdraw.
The announcement comes directly after Kim won an individual gold medal at the Asian Games, earning an exemption from mandatory South Korean military service. His victory followed a demanding stretch where he left the Presidents Cup early to compete in Japan.
