United States captain Jim Furyk stated that his team will be considered "underdogs" at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland. Speaking during a news conference, Furyk noted that the Americans have not claimed an away victory in the competition since 1993, suffering seven straight losses on European soil, while European captain Luke Donald questioned whether the US team should truly be labeled as underdogs.
Furyk revealed plans to alter the American approach to foursomes matches, highlighting that the US secured only three of 16 possible points in the alternate-shot format across the last two Ryder Cups. He also expressed excitement about incorporating younger talent alongside established veterans when the tournament takes place on September 17–19, 2027.
