Tournament host Tiger Woods was not included in the initial player field announced for the December 3-6 Hero World Challenge in Albany, Bahamas. However, the 15-time major champion could still potentially join the 20-man event through one of three available exemption spots. There is currently no official confirmation regarding when the 50-year-old might return to competitive golf.
Woods has not played an official tournament since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024. The 17 confirmed competitors include World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and defending champion Hideki Matsuyama, alongside top-ranked players Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, Russell Henley, Chris Gotterup, Sam Burns, and Xander Schauffele.
