Writer Jim McLennan has selected six nominations for the 2026 Arizona Diamondbacks Play of the Year community award on AZ Snake Pit. The list includes standout defensive highlights and key moments from the season, allowing supporters to vote on the best overall play.
The nominated plays feature an April diving catch by Alek Thomas, a double play by Nolan Arenado, and a 6-2 double play involving Geraldo Perdomo. Two highlights from an August 7 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers also made the ballot: Corbin Carroll robbing a home run and Gabriel Moreno throwing out Shohei Ohtani attempting to steal second base. The final nominee is Ryan Waldschmidt's walk-off home run against the Chicago Cubs on August 25.
