Astros center fielder Daulton Varsho underwent left arthroscopic wrist surgery on Tuesday, a procedure that will sideline him for the entire postseason.

Houston Astros center fielder Daulton Varsho underwent left arthroscopic wrist surgery on Tuesday, ruling him out for the remainder of the postseason. The team announced the news on Wednesday ahead of Game 2 of their American League Wild Card series against the Chicago White Sox.
Varsho struggled offensively after being acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays at the trade deadline, batting .172 with five home runs in 41 games, though his defense was considered an upgrade. Lucas Spence started in center field for Houston following injuries to both Varsho and replacement Brice Matthews.
