The Atlanta Braves selected left-handed reliever Danny Young from Triple-A Gwinnett to their 40-man roster on October 9. The move comes following the team's postseason elimination by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2026 NLDS. Adding Young to the 40-man roster ensures the Braves will avoid losing him to Minor League free agency entering the offseason.
Young originally signed a one-year contract with Atlanta in December 2025 while rehabbing from UCL reconstruction surgery. The 32-year-old made 16 major-league appearances covering 12.1 innings in 2026 after beginning the season on the injured list, alongside pitching 13 innings with a .122 opponent batting average in the Minors.
