The Atlanta Braves have hired former Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown as a senior advisor in their amateur scouting department, according to a report by Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The move marks a return to Atlanta for Brown, who previously served as the Braves' vice president of scouting from 2019 to 2022 before taking the Astros' front office job.
Brown reunites with Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos, continuing a professional partnership that originated with the Montreal Expos in 2002 and included time with the Toronto Blue Jays. Brown became available after the Astros parted ways with him in August following a tenure that included two AL West titles and an ALCS appearance.
